Dave Ashurst took them a few weeks ago at Cox Bay. He had a tripod and a telephoto, and was in the right place at the right time for this coast guard lifeboat to hit some crazy swell. Good thing those things can roll! Not sure about those guys on the top deck, though. Kinda reminds me of taking the auxiliary boat out up here in masset....

a dark and rainy Tuesday afternoon at Goldstream. I don't know if seeing the spawning ever gets tiresome. I heard some old guys saying "back in the day the river was full shoulder to shoulder with them." I hope the future generations get to see it in their lifetimes.

Got some shots from English Bay. Can you pick out the ones with the killer whales? Heard them splashing around one evening while checking my prawn traps and wondering what the heck is all that noise. Stoked to see them in English Bay as this is the closest I could get. Summer is finally here!
