Bodega Trail, Bodega Ridge Provincial Park, Galiano Island, Sep 2007

This past weekend I hiked to the most unbelievable panoramic seascapes I've ever seen. An approximate 30 minute hike up the Bodega trail, that brings you 328 meters above sea level, along a grassy bluff. Providing a fantastic view of Trincomali Channel, Vancouver Island and the surrounding mountains. The trail then drips into the forest, and comes to an odd finish, at a thumb shaped rock with Bodega engraved upon it. However, the view and wildlife are worth the trip.

Galiano Island’s cliffs support bald eagles, peregrine falcons, and turkey vultures.

The Bodega Provincial Park is on Galiano Island, accessible by B.C. Ferries (Swartz Bay). Once off the ferrie take Sturdies Bay road, to Porlier Pass Dr and follow it till you get to Cottage Hills Way on your right. The tail head is at the end of the road.
