For the first time in a while a Canadian won the Slam City Jam vert finals. PLG (Pierre Luc Gagnon) took the top prize with three consistent runs packed with huge air and huge tech tricks. PLG threw down 720s, Frontside Rodeo 540s, and a sick Backside 540 over the channel. Throw in a massive McTwist and butter smooth lip tricks and set up airs and no one could take the prize money away!

Second place went to Bob Burnquist who (as usual) was in a world of his own. Burnquist's bag of tricks even confused the announcer who didn't realize most of Bob's run was being done switch! Highlights included a switch McTwist, switch kickflip indy to fakie and a sick switch olie roll-in over the channel.

Third place went to last year's defending champ Bucky Lasek who had huge runs but bailed one time too many to take the big money. The massive frontside Madonna to tail did not go unappreciated by the crowd and Lasek's Backside olie to tail slide over the channel showed he definitely has the power to make a comeback next year.
