Opening Day Comments
» Brandon Soros the rails are pretty good. Some of the rails suck though, that's the only thing.
» Andrew Body there's too many curbs but overall layout is pretty good. It's got pretty good flow, pretty good lines, pretty dusty.
» Jimmy Miller Nanaimo has needed for some time. It's nice to see that there some progression and dedication from all the locals, and also the local municipality.
As far as from a nit picking standpoint, it's a little bit congested but congestion and maybe a little bit of awkwardness leads to the growth and versatility of the user group, so in time all the kids in Nanaimo are going to be amazing.
» Jordan McInnis rainbow rail is f**king dope. The big hubba, unreal. Everything else is kina low, like all the boxes in the middle but all the rails are good and the transitions are good. Overall I think it's a great park.
» Alex Eddy it's pretty good. I like the bump to rail. I like the big hubba ledge. I don't like how some of the rails lead into the bottoms of other ledges where you can hurt yourself quite nicely. All around they got their monies worth.
» CoastalBC Awesome park. It'll be a well used, well appreciated facility. While the tennis courts and playing fields lay empty around it, this skatepark will be in use. Perfect that the City of Nanaimo recognizes the value of facilities that get used. Perfect that the city of Nanaimo has already set land aside and started a kitty to build the next Nanaimo skatepark in Harewood. More, more, more.
update
a water diversion trench was added to this park and we hope water will never bubble up through the concrete seams again. Groundwater can be a formidable force. Volumes of water can be incredible. Time will test.
