WhaT iT is: Goose Spit - endless spots all along this beach. There are great skimming opportunities adjacent to the parking lot but this area can jam up with beach goers & small children. A 5 minute walk down the beach around the point to the right there are some great little rivers to ride, and some cool tide pools. Good place to set up rails and ramps without worrying about the tide.
LocaTed: Comox, B.C.
Tides: Comox tide table - Like most beaches, the best time to ride is at a lower tide. Mid to high tides expose only a very rocky and steep beach.
NoTes: As the most popular beach in the Valley, the Spit can often be very busy (especially on the weekends). Parking can be a pain and children run wild. I'd recommend going before noon and walking around behind the cadet base (where the rivers and tide pools are) to avoid the crowd.
DirecTions: Follow Comox Ave. South until it intersects with Pritchard Rd. Once on Pritchard, take a right at the 4-way stop on Balmoral. Continue on this road until you reach the water. note: Balmoral eventually turns into Hawkins road.
