an update now that I have finished the hollow wood surfboard. I have taken it a few times now and it performs as good as it looks! Took some big drops on it last weekend and no problems. This board is NOT a wallhanger!
Here is a few pics of my first board, a red cedar, yellow cedar and redwood 9` longboard, 2+1 fin setup, futurefin center and fcs sidebites. 3 phase epoxy, over 4 oz. s2 cloth. Final weight 23lbs.(10.43 kg) Also goretex leash plug vent which works great!
the hollow I am building in the shaping room. (location is top secret) Specs are 9' L, 22 3/4W 3" thick, 2 7/16 tail rocker and 4 7/8 nose rocker. This is red cedar, yellow cedar and redwood, currently weighs in at 19.8 lbs. Hope you like the pics. I am a journeyman carpenter by trade, but this is waaay more fun!!
